U2 Free Show Marks Berlin Wall Fall

20 years already eh. There’s a whole generation of self centered, poorly educated children that have no clue what this is all about. Put down your cell phone and get yourself up to speed.

Rock Band Who Coming?

I predict many broken video game “guitars” and bloody hands as dorks like me attempt to imitate our hero Pete Townshend.

Boss Closes Down The Joint

The “joint” would be Giants Stadium. Bruce and The E Street band crammed “Born In The USA” into their three plus hour set Friday night. It’s the final ever show there as the old albatross faces the wrecking ball soon.

Please Help Scotland Yard Gospel Choir

Scotland Yard Gospel Choir

The Chicago band was in a horrific van accident last week. They need your help. We’ll keep you posted on the hospitalized member’s conditions as updates become available.

Lady Sov Spits At Doorman, Fined

Is there anything worse you can do to a person than spitting on them? Really I’d rather be kicked in the nuts.

And The Moon Landings Were Faked Too

The album that made Kiss’ career, “Alive” was said to have been recorded at Detroit’s Cobo Hall. There may be some crowd noise on there from Cobo, but trust me, that was a studio creation (as are more live albums than you care to know). Anyway Kiss recreated the recreated “Alive” over the weekend in Detroit and Billboard was there.

Someone Had To Approve This

We heard from Courtney Hole earlier this week on the matter. Now Dave Grohl and Krist Novelselic have expressed dismay over Kurt Kobain’s avatar singing Bon Jovi songs on Guitar Hero. Someone had to approve this right? See you in court I guess.

Bonus Coverage. In case you missed it, here’s the sad video:

Curtis on CNBC

9 09 2009

Nick Jones (@NickJones82)

Fiddy talks about his investment in Vitamin Water, the current state of the music industry, and his Connecticut mansion that he’s trying to sell. It’s nice to see mainstream media outlets treat Hip-Hop artists (or gangsta rappers in 50’s case) with the business respect many of them deserve. Curtis holds his own here.

New “Behind the Music” episodes, 50 Cent and Lil Wayne

2 09 2009

by Nick Jones (@NickJones82)

Maybe I’m out of the loop, but I didn’t know VH1 (MTV Networks) was still producing new “Behind the Music” episodes. They all seemed to have a layer of cheese or embellishment to them, but I always enjoyed them. Shit, currently VH1 just produces shows about broke people having sex, so this is definitely a welcomed change.

Anyway, I’m definitely looking forward to watching both Fiddy and Weezie’s episodes (not the premier of course, but one of the 600 times they’re rerun.) Here’s 50’s trailer and you check out Wayne’s after the jump.

happy new yearz....

Back in the day, if a New York based hip hop project was coming together, chances were good Nastee was there somewhere…. Engineering, producing, djing… He’s been on projects Busta, Mobb Deep, Noreaga, even Fifty Cent.

By 2003 Nastee needed some air… Eventually he drifted to Vermont, but hasn’t left he music behind. New York’s loss is your gain tonight at Red Square in Burlington, Vermont.
