Mmmmm One Foot In The Gravy

One of my favorite band names belongs to West Virginia’s One Foot In The Gravy. They’ve been laying low, on a quest to find a new bass player.

They’ve found her finally and want to get into the studio soon… and on the stage too, as they will tonight at 123 Pleasant Street in Morgantown, West Virginia.

When I heard Iowa metal band Identity Crisis I had to keep hitting repeat.

You see that’s a woman singing… She’s Tasha Hoffman and with the boys they’ll be celebrating their new e.p. “Finding Balance” with a headline set at The Picador in Iowa City Friday.

The Malah don’t play so much as they sculpt sounds.

If groups like STS9 are in your wheelhouse you’ll dig this South Carolina trio too… Tonight they’re at The Pour House in Charleston.

LA duo Dim Light Daylight are known for their marathon tours.

They once went out for 18 months straight, playing over 300 shows and managing to record an album as they traveled. Tonight they can be found as usual, on stage, this time at Stella’s in Lubbock, Texas.

As long as we’re touting hard touring duos, we should mention Jucifer too.

Behind their latest, which by the way is a double album, Jucifer build a sensuous, and unrelenting wall of heavy. Tonight they’re at The Blvd in Spokane.

I’ve heard the term “outlaw country,” encompassing men like Waylon, Hank, Johnny and George. “Scumbag Country” is a new one on me.

Reno’s Hellbound Glory are a self described “scumbag country” band. It seems to go with nicely with cold beer, so order up at The Badlander in Missoula, Montana Friday.
