The Jesus Lizard

Supposedly we’re in economic ruin, but the festival business is thriving. There’s another of note this weekend.
In Montecello, New York The Flaming Lips curated All Tomorrow’s Parties kicks off today.

The reformed Feelies are performing their just reissued classic first album Crazy Rhythms. Aussie band The Drones are on the bill as are Iron and Wine and Friday headliner, the punishing Jesus Lizard.

Missing The Point pumped out a couple of Twitters the past couple of days.

The first said they were cutting guitar, bass, and drum parts in the studio this week. The other was word of their headline set at The Canopy Club in Champaign, Illinois tonight.

You won’t find many more topical new songs than Colin Gawel’s “Chemotherapy.”

It’s on his debut e.p. of the same name. Tonight the Watershed member fronts his solo band The Lonely Bones at The Rumba Cafe in Columbus, Ohio.

Smoothop say they’ll occasionally try to follow a set list, but somewhere between writing it and looking at it, it’s forgotten.

With their ADD approach you get a wildly improvisational performance. Tonight the band formed at UNC Wilmington performs in town at The Mellow Mushroom.

“Get off the computer and go see a show.” That’s the advise of Citizen Escape.

The Northwest indie rock band are headlining The Rogue Hero in Bellingham, Washington Friday.
