Kings Of Leon @ Lollapalooza by Gary Orr

The Kings Of Leon are prepping a live DVD and remix album for the fall. Justin Timberlake, Lykke Li, and Mark Ronson will be among the contributors. Hmmm. I guess I’ll wait to hear them. Well, except for the contribution from Linkin Park. I’m pretty sure that’ll suck.

Bauhaus’ Peter Murphy guested on three songs at last night’s Nine Inch Nails show. Kanye was there.

He’s come full circle. In 1965 Pete Townshend wrote the words “hope I die before I get old.” Now he’s crafting a Rock Opera about getting old. Some of the tracks will appear on the next Who album. Should there be another Who album? “The Endless Wire” was a dull slog actually.

Make plans to buy everyone on your list the forthcoming Bob Dylan Christmas album. It’s for charity.

Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy was arrested last night. After a brief show trial, Stump was executed.

The headline on is hilarious! Danzig, Death, and Of Montreal To Play Fun Fun Fun Fest! Silly me I thought they were referring to the old Florida black metal band Death, not a Detroit punk band. It’s a solid lineup for “Fun Fun Fun.” Personal favorites? Glad you asked:

Mission Of Burma

Royal Bangs

The Jesus Lizard

And of course No Age. Pitchfork says it’s ok if you download this new No Age song. Of course Pitchfork also said Wavves were good so proceed with caution.

And in honor of Danzig playing, here’s a video of of Glen Danzig getting punched out. Enjoy!

History will surely be made when indie folk’s funniest man Brett Dennen does a duet with music’s foremost humorless waif Natalie Merchant. Let’s hope she sings in her fake Euro accent.

According to this Spin article Chris Brown may be a bit of a serial abuser. Asshole.

Did we ask for a Cranberries reunion? That reminds me of the time I auctioned a pair of Dolores O’Riordan’s pants on Public TV. I swear Dolores is a size -14. Teeny tiny. I can’t remember what they went for, but it wasn’t much. No footage of this auction exists so instead we present James Pants:

You’ll have to go to to hear a leaked Pearl Jam song.

Sabbath reissues? It’s about bloody time. And now rare footage of Tony Iommi without a mustache.

That video actually aired on ABC in 1974 from what I understand. Cool.

I remember seeing Mike Watt in 1995 and this new band called Foo Fighters were opening. Now Dave Grohl has to set up in front of the headliners again as Them Crooked Vultures will open for Arctic Monkeys tonight. When’s the last time John Paul Jones opened for anyone? Never? Possibly.

Like those Halloween outlets that pop up in dead malls, Jack White is opening a temporary store in LA.

Stereogum has a free J. Tillman download. He’s in Fleet Foxes, but was a solo artist of note before joining up and maintains that separate career to this day.

We’re finally going to get some new music from Massive Attack Are there many albums better than “Mezzanine?” Nope. Check out “Inertia Creeps” if you don’t believe me.
