The Vettes

The two Louisiana alt bands recorded a single together. The 7″ is limited to 500 copies and will be available Friday as The Vettes and Meriwether share the bill at The Varsity in Baton Rouge.

Why should we expect to find an interesting band in of all places Huntington, West Virginia.

Ours is not to ask why. Qiet…. Q-i-e-t sound sort of like a fictious stage production of Fiddler On The Roof starring Eddie Vedder. Try getting your head around that Friday at Shamrock’s in Huntington.

Marmoset’s world is blurry, but not confusing.

Marmoset’s world is where every note and drum hit is where it ought to be, but you could never replicate it if you tried. Yet another cool band on The Secretly Canadian Label, Marmoset celebrate the fourth full length dispatch from their alternate universe tonight in Bloomington, Indiana at Russian Recording.

It bums me out when I find a band as great as Callooh! Callay!

My listening life would have been that much better had I known already. I’ll be getting caught up with their free e.p. You should swing by and catch this fine indie folk four piece at The Indepedent in Auburn, Alabama Friday.

Callooh! Callay!

I’ve heard of split singles, but what The Vettes and Meriwether are doing is a bit different.

And Atlanta hard rockers Norman Jean are about to cut themselves a huge slice of jet lag.

Tonight they finish a two night stand in Anchorage, Alaska at Club M. From there they head to New Jersey for The Revolution Generation Festival September 5th…. And then they play five shows in Russia starting September 9th. Perhaps it would have made more sense to play Russia right after New Jersey… Just saying. Safe travels men.
