Bat For Lashes

Bat For Lashes leader Natasha Kahn may be a friendly unassuming former pre school teacher when you speak to her, but she turns into something entirely different on stage. The enchanting Kahn seemed to even conjure up the wind when we saw her at Lollapalooza. Tonight she casts her spell on you at The Parish in Austin.

The Levee Drivers say they were born in the wrong era. Their smoldering countryfied delta roots music does come from another time, but they never seem antiquated. Hit em up at World Cafe in Philadelphia tonight.

Drew Dixon reminds us that school is starting up a again… The University of Georgia undergrad works in gigs when he can including tonight at Tasty World in Athens.

Carolina emo kids The Jealousy Game have a couple of new songs up… They promise that full length will appear soon. To whet your appetite they’re emerging to play a one off at The Knitting Factory in LA this evening.

And Fat Paw leader Tim Wray is mostly doing gigs with the band over the next couple of months… Tonight though you can catch him doing his solo thing at Hog Wallow in Salt Lake City.
