As Tall As Lions Live Thursday In Boise

As Tall As Lions can see the light at the end of the album tunnel. They’ve been working on their latest album “You Can’t Take It With You” since January of 2008. The band says the new one is very anchored in beats and rhythms. Hear some of the new material tonight in Boise at Nuerolux.

Love may be complicated, but Cleveland’s Sparrows And Arrows make writing catchy songs about love sound easy. Their midwest tour is winding down with a show in Cincinnati tonight at Blue Rock Tavern.

Swedish band Dungen keep their songs under five minutes, and cram so many ideas and sonic detail into those five minute spans it’s a bit disorienting. Best just to go with it tonight in Buffalo at Orbits Soundlab.

New Orleans band The War Office call their sound “damaged music for a damaged town.” I’ll compare their sound at first blush to UK post punk legends Joy Division. See what you think tonight in The Big Easy at Circle Bar.

Richmond indie pop rock band Prabir and The Substitutes note wryly that they’re signed to Sony, Universal and Warner Brothers on their myspace. Seriously though a record label would do themselves proud with Prabir’s appealing songs. Tonight they’re at Slim’s in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I suppose you could take one look at Cobra Skulls and call them a punk band. You’d be correct generally, but there’s a lot more going on here…. Outlaw country, rock-a-billy, perhaps a bit of ska…. It’s all good. Their tour hits Java Lounge in Sacramento Thursday.
