Didja hear? Kanye West graced the SXSW masses with his bloated presence this year, playing not one, but two shows at the FADER Fort and Perez Hilton’s party. After chatting with Jadakiss following his set at FADER (hilarious Gatorade-promoting video to come), I went back inside the tent to see what Ye had up his sleeve.

Basically, it wasn’t so much a Kanye show, but rather a vehicle for Kanye to promote the lesser-known artists from his G.O.O.D. Music Label, and by that point in the day, it was almost too much excess to handle. There were a few highlights — Kanye joined 88-Keys for “Stay Up (Viagra),” and Erykah Badu, Kid Cudi and Common all made appearances, the latter two performing “Day ‘n’ Night” together. West closed out with a bang with “Good Life” and “Love Lockdown,” which sounded surprisingly well considering all the Auto-Tune mishaps seen during his live performances of late.

After hours and hours (make that days?) of beers in the sun, The Perez Party was skipped in favor of kicking it downtown for the night (which also made it the, like, third time I missed Rye Rye, sadly), but I hear he played more solo rather than pimp out his posse. You can check footage of his FADER performance here. — Jill Menze
